As the semester comes to an end and the season of Thanksgiving is upon us, I have started to reflect on how thankful I am for finally coming to Newman. As everyone knows, choosing the "right" college can be a difficult choice. I have this theory that there is a certain college out there for everybody. For me it just so happened to be Newman University. I did not land on Newman the first time around, and I think that makes me the most thankful and appreciative of being here now. The main reason for this is the faculty and staff as well as the rest of the students. The faculty and staff at Newman is amazing. They really do strive (and succeed) at making the student their first priority. All of the professors that I have had have been more than willing to find some sort of solution to helping a struggling student. Without their help, I would not have done as well as I have. It is also important to mention how integral the staff is at Newman University. They are extremely accommodating; they make sure every student is treated with first class service. They are not grumpy, and they help the students with a smile. This is something that means a lot to anybody.
I never hesitate to tell people that the reason I love Newman so much is because of the welcoming atmosphere. There is no such thing as an "impersonal" encounter here. You will be remembered the next time they pass you on the sidewalk with a warm smile and a friendly hello. This is something to consider when picking a great university. Therefore, I extend a sincere thank you to the entire Newman community. Thank you for going the extra mile!
